First day of the 2006 open enrollment period in which you may enroll in a Medicare prescription drug plan for 2007 prescription drug coverage.

December 31, 2006
If you are eligible for Medicare, this is the last day you can enroll in a Medicare prescription drug plan for 2007 coverage unless you qualify for an exception. After this date, you must wait until the next open-enrollment period (November 15 to December 31, 2007) to enroll.

January 1, 2007
First day you can use your Medicare prescription drug coverage if you enrolled during the 2006 open enrollment period from November 15, 2006 to December 31, 2006.
